Fluency in more than one language does not mean an individual is able to interpret those languages. As part of our Interpretation Skills Assessment, individuals participate in a 16-hour workshop that reviews formal procedures and standards of professional interpreting. After the workshop, individuals are required to complete a written evaluation that assesses the individual’s understanding of national interpretation standards as well as general fluency in the language(s) to be interpreted. A complete report on the individual’s interpretation and language evaluation results, as well as a certificate of successful completion of the workshop, are provided to the individual/client.

Fluency in a particular language does not necessarily indicate an individual’s knowledge of industry-specific vocabulary. At LRC® we provide custom-designed language assessments specific to our clients’ industries and/or areas of expertise within an industry. We work closely with you to create assessment materials that will evaluate exactly what you need in over 190 languages.
